Shawn Butters has over 20 years of experience working with Government, statutory organizations, community and industry groups.

He is committed to working in better connecting people and information across the policy, research and field practitioner communities for better decision making in natural resource use and conservation. This involves work in sourcing information, synthesis and quality assurance, relationships, business processes, technologies, communications and program design.

Skills and experience

David has a broad earth science background with particular expertise in hydrogeology, geology and geophysics

Within EWR David specialises in assisting non specialists understand their options in catchment condition monitoring, reporting and evaluation (MER), data collection and analysis, biophysical modelling and decision support. David offers a strong ability to quickly organise large amounts of quantitative information and written evidence for the identification of knowledge gaps and re-use.

He developed a practical understanding of Victorian landscapes through his extensive experience in dryland salinity research.  Throughout his career David has developed close relationships with community led organisations in the provision of extension and assisting them with their research needs.
